This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in a low-income/high poverty school, and are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. As the school year gets under way, I am starting to notice some of my students need extra support like sensory objects to help them focus.
My students are resilient and ready to learn.
I want to be able to provide these students with one less burden to worry about. All they need is love and support to keep pushing forward!
My Project
It is my job to create a safe space, both in and out of the classroom, for all of our students to come to and calm down, talk out their frustrations, and receive interventions to help them succeed in the classroom. The materials and supplies I am requesting are much needed to support our students in their social emotional health. These supplies will help give them the extra support they need to focus in class. The chewlery items provides a safe option for those students that likes to put unsafe items in theirs mouths to help them calm down and focus. The weighted vest is to provide sensory support to the students who need extra support slowing down.
By contributing to our project, you will not only help to enhance and encourage student education in and out of the classroom you will be motivating it as well.
You will ultimately be supporting and furthering their academic accomplishments through providing tools for their social emotional health.
