This is an amazing group of 27 students with a unique set of abilities and learning ranges. We have many learning abilities from gifted and talented to multiple students reading on a first grade level.
We have students who are excited and eager to learn.
Many students in our classroom benefit from visual learning and hands-on experiences. I would like to provide as many different types of learning experiences to reach all of the students' needs and abilities in all subject areas, especially STEM.
The items listed below for donation will be put to use by providing hands-on experiences to see what rocks and fossils look and feel like. They will be able to aid in visual learning (adaptable to all learning styles, but especially those who have limited vocabulary knowledge in Science, and those with autism). They will be able to read text and compare, contrast, and write expository and informative essays while citing evidence from hands-on learning materials and text. This will greatly improve the learning and retention in Science and Language Arts skills. Please help make this a possibility in our 4th grade classroom.
My Project
Our diverse classroom of 27 students are in need of hands-on learning activities to enhance their creativity, enjoyment, and understanding of the core subjects, especially in Science and Math, where they can seem tedious to some students. I hope to bring in more tools that can attract more students to these fields of learning and show them that it can be fun while they are learning.
Students will gain experience while learning and solidify their knowledge by applying what they have learned.
For example, the magnifying glasses will enhance Science while we observe rocks and fossils and categorize them. Using the streak plates will add to our Moh's hardness test. Using the headphones will increase students' ability to hear and comfort in conjunction with STEM activities on their Chromebooks. The microphone will allow even the quietest student to be heard in Socratic discussions about STEM all while making them feel comfortable at the same time they share. The calculator will allow me to show them translations, angles, and so much more in Math, providing visual examples and excitement. Math manipulative will create opportunities for tactile understanding. Book clubs will infuse a love for reading and discussion.
Our class and future classes will benefit greatly by the addition of these supplemental tools! ChevronFuelYourSchool
