A classroom’s environment will create the mood for learning. In our class, we make sure we have a positive atmosphere to foster learning, growing, and taking risks.
Our third graders are enthusiastic and energetic.
They love to be challenged, they love to share their knowledge, and they thrive by working well with others and creating a team environment. We are fortunate to have a wide variety of cultures so we can learn about each other and work with people who have different strengths and experiences.
My Project
As educators we know that there isn't a "one size fits all" when it comes to our students' learning. Because of that, we need to offer different ways to: reach, challenge, and engage our students. Students have different needs and each of those needs is important - whether they need more review, more hands-on experience, artistic engagement, repetition, or technology support. We want to make sure we provide that support for them to be successful.
The Dynamath and Storyworks are to add enrichment and challenge in both ELA and math for my students who have already grasped the current curriculum and are in need of a more rigorous challenge.
The books are to have a wide-level of reading material to match the large range of reading levels within my classroom. The art canvases are to add some fun and creativity for those students who express themselves through art. We will be studying about famous artists, creating and presenting Google Slides presentations to the class, and finally creating our own masterpiece on the canvases.
Of course, a great growth mindset is of utmost importance to set a successful classroom environment. I believe this is the foundation for all learning to take place. The inspirational posters will help to create a bright and happy room for all to learn.
