My Students

We live in a very rural community. It is small, therefore, I split my teaching time between two schools in the area. Because we speak slowly and enjoy the outdoors, others may think we are slow. This is disproved by my classes. They have tested in the ninety-first percentile and are intellectually gifted.

These students do not fit into any mold.

They are unique, funny, shy, outgoing, wordsmiths, quiet, passionate, lackadaisical, driven, cautious, danger seeking, artistic, logical, and most of all they are the future. I love the challenge of building a relationship with this diverse group of youngsters that range from second grade through sixth grade.

My Project

Recently, our class of gifted learners was fortunate enough to be given several new chess boards. In order to have these boards for years to come, I wish to get bags in order to keep them in like new condition.

Crumpled, mussed, dirty chess boards and broken pieces are chosen last.

For these reasons, I have chosen chess bags to fill the need of keeping our chess supplies in pristine order.

Because we spend an entire day each week in the gifted class, we are able to have a regular chess time. Chess is an exciting part of our class time. Keeping our chess boards in tip-top shape will keep that excitement alive!
