My students need chess boards so that they can develop their own chess abilities and teach younger students how to play in order to utilize higher level reasoning skills.

My Students

My gifted and talented students are eager to utilize higher level reasoning and strategy skills in ways that are varied from their usual classroom work.

My students are unique.

They are each brilliant in their own right! They inspire me and make our school a vibrant and amazing place. Our school is determined to value each student for their individual strengths and to foster positive relationships between peers.

My Project

The chess boards requested will be used for 3-5 grade students who excel academically to utilize and develop skills in the areas of strategy and critical thinking. These boards will further be used for the 3-5 grade students to teach younger students the game of chess. These interactions will foster positive relationships within our school.

This project will make a difference by giving our 3-5 grade students, who are exceptional academically, an opportunity to develop higher order thinking and reasoning skills.

Through interactions that will occur when the 3-5 grade students are able to teach younger students chess, our school's culture will grow in positivity and acceptance.
