Our school is very diverse. Our students come from many different countries and speak over 60 different languages. We also have many students that come to us from poverty. Our school has a huge ELL population and many are on free and reduced lunch.
Our students are unique, amazing, resilient, and hard-working.
They work, after school and on weekends, and work hard to further their education. Many go on to top quality universities, where the university faculty expects they have done many different kinds of lab work.
We currently have some older technology that is getting out of date, and starting to malfunction. These probes would allow the continuation of several labs to be possible. My budget goes for chemicals and glassware, and these probes are way outside my budget restraints.
My Advanced Placement Chemistry students are required to do 16 labs and we need these probes for 5 of them.
It would be a tremendous help to have a set, so that all students could use them, not just watch. Hands on materials are a huge asset in learning.
I am hoping to continue labs with these probes and look for new applications for them in the future.
