My Project

I am requesting equipment that will allow my students to conduct pH testing, thermochemistry, precipitate isolation, and more complex labs. Our students have missed out on many hands-on learning opportunities in the wake of COVID-19. These pieces of equipment are missing from our chemistry stockroom and we don't have the capital funds to purchase them for our school. We want to give these students the most opportunities to discover relationships in science through hands-on experimentation.

Please help us make chemistry engaging, interesting, fun, and meaningful through laboratory experiences.

Most students won't remember all of the details of chemistry class, but they will remember the laboratory experiments!

At our school our two chemistry classes share equipment so these supplies will help run labs for 240 students.

With this equipment we will study acids and bases with special emphasis on the problem of ocean acidification.

We will study precipitation with special emphasis on how ocean acidification is affecting coral reefs AND how you can clean your faucet build up with vinegar! We will also conduct temperature and heat capacity studies on solids, liquids, and gases.
