Each year I teach basic chemistry to my fifth grade class. One of the things we do is make observations using hand lenses of different substances, noting their properties. In the past I borrowed what I could to do this. We usually can come up with only about 4-6 lenses for the entire class and everyone has to pass them around and share. It would be ideal to have 32 lenses so each student can have his or her own to make observations. Another part of our Chemistry unit is to mix substances and observe the chemical reaction that may take place. To do this in a scientific manner, it would be great to have a class set of eye droppers and chem trays to measure and mix substances. So to summarize, I would like a class set (32) of hand lenses, eye droppers and chem trays to use in a chemistry unit. Making hands-on observations is a more effective and interesting way to learn and these supplies would make that more possible for my students.
