I teach Middle School Science, Earth Science, Biology, and Chemistry to students in a rural setting. They are enthusiastic, eager to learn new things, and willing to go the extra mile to learn new and exciting things in Science.
Many of my students came in to the year stating how they didn't like Science.
They hadn't been exposed to hands-on opportunities for quite a while. We have been working on changing that, and I can see their attitudes changing as they now enjoy Science!
My Project
As we have gone throughout this year have found that we are still coming across chemicals that we do not have and some more that need to be replaced. While we understand that this is an ongoing process, we need to address some of these things as the year goes on.
We lack chemicals, and we lack some of the safety equipment needed when we use those chemicals.
Experiments are fun and exciting, and it is important to me that I teach our students safety when working with these chemicals. As these students move on toward more and exciting experiments I want these students to be excited,, and safe!
