My 2nd Grade students are talented, cheerful, and full of excitement! I teach in a Title 1 neighborhood dual-immersion school where all students receive free lunch and breakfast. Many of our students are coming to school from a different location every day. Aunts, grandmas, neighbors and other community members often support our students travel to school.
Despite all the challenges and difficulties my students face, they continually come to school with a desire to learn and help others.
My students come to school curious about the world and the opportunity to pursue challenging material. They are continually growing and reflecting to be their best selves!
Majority of 2nd grade learning is spent on the carpet. During this time it is important for the students to feel clean and comfortable. Currently our carpet is very old and falling apart. The colors are faded, it sheds material, and it can no longer be cleaned because of the poor shape it is in. It is not a pleasant place to spend learning time.
The new carpet would contribute to a bright, clean, and happy learning environment.
The students wouldn't be distracted by the carpet crumbling as they sit on it. With a new carpet students can focus on their learning and have a better chance of achieving their goals.
