As a Math Teacher and Cheerleading Sponsor in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, we strive to provide quality education and exposure through extracurricular activities to help them become well-rounded individuals that are productive young citizens of society.
Our cheerleaders have so much potential and GRIT!
These girls take pride in balancing their academics, volunteer opportunities, and social life while maintaining an image as student leaders on the school's campus. Their motto is to "Cheer Like a Beauty and Train Like a Beast." And through both ongoing skill development and cheer training, our goal as a coaching staff is to help our cheerleaders get to the next level of college through academic and/or athletic scholarships. This group of young ladies are very respectful and share a remarkable bond. They truly have the right attitude, a growth mindset, and the ability. Even as a new squad, they ultimately understand the importance of operating as a unit and appreciating the small beginnings.
Aside from their academics, this group of young ladies Eat, Sleep and Breathe... Cheerleading! And although these girls and their families are paying their fair share of the spirit package, the cost of cheer related items can be quite expensive.
It is our goal to make sure our cheerleaders have the resources for cheering & flexibility, motivation, and complete uniform attire from bow to toe, even for rainy game days throughout the school-year, seeing that they are tasked with keeping everyone amped up with school spirit.
With your generous donation, our cheerleaders will be able to properly prepare for school spirit events, game days & more. During the month of October, the girls will cheer with pink pom poms in honor of women who have, at some point, been diagnosed with breast cancer. And by having an awesome cheer room filled with inspiration and furniture to plan and prep prior to these events, this will help them have better performances and overall increase the Wildcat Pride, school-wide.
