My team comes from a variety of diverse backgrounds with different levels of abilities and skills. However, together they have formed into a group that is filled with cooperation, trust, respect, amiable personalities, and hardworking mentalities.
This team comprises a unique and dedicated group of young people that always have something new to bring to the table.
Each day is a new adventure and they always have me and their teammates smiling and laughing. Their positive energies and motivational attitudes inspire anyone that has the opportunity to interact with them.
My Project
In March 2020 the unimaginable happened, a global pandemic closing school buildings throughout the nation. Students went remote and learned new ways to take their classes and interact with each other. However, one of the biggest parts that were taken from them was the physical social interactions that extracurricular activities like clubs and sports gave them. In September 2021, school buildings opened again for blended and remote learning. New York City PSAL sports had modified spring seasons to give a sense of normalcy to students. PSAL Stunt was considered too high risk so it was cancelled and no spectators were allowed at games so there was no cheerleading. To say our team was crushed would be an understatement.
This school year, Cheer and PSAL Stunt have been welcomed back and our team rejoiced; however there is one big problem: we have no uniforms.
With your generous donation you will be contributing to brand new and much needed uniforms that students cannot afford on their own. We so desperately need them to feel like a team again after almost two years without one.
Uniforms unite players and make them strong teams because it gives them a sense of pride and exhilaration in knowing they are representing not only themselves but the larger school community. This sense of pride is lost with mismatched uniforms that do not fit all the students on the team. We humbly ask that you help us get back to where we were prior to the pandemic by donating towards our team. We hope with donors like you we can have a successful season that allows each of our members to grow individually and collectively while giving back to their community.
