My Students

I teach 18 curious and excited Pre-Kindergarten students in an urban school district in Charlotte, NC. 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch at our school and 80% of my students come from a bilingual household. All of my student love coming to school to learn about themselves and the world around them. Everyday, my classroom is full of learning, understanding, laughs, love, smiles and many, many hugs. They are our future and I would like to give them the best start to their academic career.

My Project

Having an incubator in our classroom will give my students the opportunity to witness the amazing process of egg hatching. This experience will complement their learning in our growing unit. The chick egg stages set will help students visualize the developmental stages that occur in the incubator. The chicken life cycle set and chicken life cycle books will reinforce their understanding of animal life cycles.

It is crucial for PreK students to be introduced to educational concepts with real world experience for laying down a strong foundation to build upon.

These educational supplies will provide exposure to a learning experience that will stay in the memories of these students for years.
