My center is made up of children Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have children from all ages and different learning styles. The kids come in from a long day at school and for some of them this is like their second home. We try to provide an environment for the children that is safe and comforting. It can get difficult when the age as well as their interest are so dramatically different.
My staff and I are always trying to provide a variety of materials to spark the children's curiosity as well as provide developmentally appropriate materials.
We try to provide an environment that strengthens relationships with their peers and also children of different ages.
My Project
I want to finish out flex seating at my center by providing a secluded area for 2 kids to play card games, ask questions as well as play checkers or chess. The bar table and bar stools will be a great addition to my center. The shelves on the side will be a great way to store many two player games. I also would like 2 more wobble stools to complete my flex seating by the Lego table. The blue cozy couch will be a great option for the children who want a cozy place to read or just relax.
