My Students

We have a music program that consists of two hundred middle school guitar, keyboard, vocal, and percussion students in grades 6-8. Students learn how to play various instruments and perform the music that they love. They work in small groups (individual rock bands) and perform cover songs as well as original music.

My students are a talented group of musicians who always step up for challenges.

They often look forward to new material and it's sometimes hard to keep up with them. They are inspired by playing/listening to the music that they love and are self-inclined to compose original songs. The original songs are extremely inspirational/heartfelt and truly come from their own life experiences.

My Project

This Shure microphone produces a full, bright, and balanced sound. It is sensitive and very dependable. We will not only use it at rehearsals, but can also take it to our gigs. We have many opportunities to perform both on campus and in the community. This microphone is compatible with any PA system.

We are pleased to have a large number of students who are vocalists this year.

In the Advanced Modern Band class most of the students have played their instruments for 2-3 years. We play songs such as "La Bamba", Seven Nation Army", and "Come Together," among many others. Every student in my classes are required to perform and write their own songs. They are also encouraged to teach their song to the entire class and perform their original songs to the class.
