Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
ACTIVE should be the name of my classroom. My students are very inquisitive learners that benefit greatly from hands-on activities. They are constantly curious and wanting to know more about a variety of subjects in and out of the classroom.
I work at a large Title I school in North Carolina.
All of the students at my school receive free breakfast. There is a wide variety of backgrounds in my classroom and a large number of students come from Spanish speaking households. We are in the process of becoming a duel language school! I want my students to have equal access to as many resources as possible and use those inquisitive minds to shine.
My Project
Readers in third grade will be participating in small book clubs during reading workshop. The book sets will be used daily in the classroom so every child can have a text in their hand and discuss content from the text with their book club.
By donating to this project, you will not only be providing high engaging material for students to read and discuss with their peers, but an opportunity for choice in students' learning.
Having a higher volume of texts let's students choose what material they would like to delve into, promoting higher engagement and a love for reading!
