My Students
My third grade classroom is a place where every child has a safe haven!
The school where I teach has a very high poverty rate and is located in a highly rural area.
Many of my students live in transient homes. Our school combines three towns into one large school. Most of our classes have three for each grade level with an average of twenty students per class. We have a high special education population so many of the students we see are below grade level in literacy and mathematics.
My Project
The items listed for purchase in this project are needed to help my students with supplies and books that will enhance their classroom setting.
Literature plays a tremendous roll in my classroom.
Requested books include My Rotten Redheaded Older Brother, Last Stop on Market Street, Memoirs of a Hamster, and I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark.
Along with the book I have sought here to have purchased, comes the necessary tools that a teacher lives by to help them with presenting the lesson. Using the chart paper to write the Learning Intentions and Success Criteria for each lesson or using notebooks and file folders to write about their reading are all examples of how these seemingly common items all enrich the learning experience in my classroom,
