Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I have 24 eager 4th graders in my class! My school is a Title I school in San Francisco, California. The district has a clear mission to set up students to be ready to success in the 21st century.

My students are very diverse.

They love a challenge and are motivated to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. More than half of my students are English Language Learners, and their reading levels range from 1st through 5th grade.

My Project

In my classroom I decorate my walls with many living anchor charts of our learning. These include anchor charts for ELA, math, and for social-emotional learning! Many of the anchor charts on my walls are created by students or by the class as a whole. Having quality anchor chart paper means that students have more access to presentable anchor charts that are visually appealing, and can hang around the room nicely. Our school is also underfunded for supplies, so I am asking for Expo markers to help me get through the year! Currently, my projector is not working, so anything that would normally be written under the doc cam, is now written in Expo marker on the board!
