Ms. Powers from Richmond VA is requesting Computers & Tablets through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Charging Toward the Future

My students need a charging cart to organize their Chromebooks. Having an organized and clean classroom eliminates distraction and this cart would also protect our expensive technology from getting damaged during the day.

My Students

My school is located in the east end of Richmond, Virginia in historic Church Hill. We are a Title I school, which means many of my students live below the poverty line. The students in my class all receive free breakfast, lunch, and a "super snack" at the end of the day, as well as the option to bring home a backpack of food for the weekend.

For many of my students, school is their sanctuary.

It is my hope that I can provide a safe, consistent, and fun learning environment for my students to achieve at the highest level. Third grade is full of changes that can be exciting to some, but scary to others. By building a strong classroom community, I know my third graders will achieve great things!

My Project

My class is fortunate in that we have enough computers in our room for each student. However, we have nowhere to store them! Because of we have no central location for our laptops, often they are not fully charged and ready to use each morning. Teaching my students that everything in our classroom has a "home" gives them organizational skills that will help them succeed in the future.

Our Chromebooks help our lessons come alive and we need to make sure they are cared for and have a special home within our classroom.

My students use these laptops everyday for everything from research to review to writing and more! Please help my students continue to have the resources they need to be 21-century citizens!
