Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Despite the hurdles my students face, my second graders have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Most of them come from low-income households with parents who don't speak English, yet they are almost all above grade level. Although we don't have top of the line supplies, they are very resourceful with what they have. These students are extremely bright and love learning just about everything! Every lesson I teach is gobbled up by them and they are left wanting for more.
Many of the students in my class have been labeled gifted, and there are many times that they end up teaching me things because of the wonderful way their minds work.
They constantly challenge me, which pleases me to no end.
My Project
In today's classrooms, our students are required to use technology daily in order to prepare for the future and meet our standards. Technology is fantastic when it is in good working order. However, it can be a challenge to ensure all devices are secured and charged for learning the next day.
With the limited amount of plugs in my classroom there are many days where all of the technology can't be used due to it not all being charged.
My classroom is in need of a charging cart to help ensure our Chromebooks and iPads are charged and ready for the next use.
With the use of the Chromebook and iPad charging cart, we can also add a layer of security to ensure the Chromebooks and iPads are accounted for and stored properly after each use.
