Help me give my students the opportunity to build responsibility and care for our classroom. In a technology classroom, charging our tools and putting items away is essential.
My students absolutely love hands-on, active, independent, and engaging lessons! They come to school each day ready to try new things alongside their teacher and student teacher this year!
Many students in my classroom share that they love the various activities they can complete using technology.
Not to mention the ability to share their daily work with families at home.
Our school is nestled in the suburbs of a city in Idaho. Each child in my classroom loves to learn! We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, regardless of achievement level! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year.
My Project
Building independence and care for our belongings is imperative.
As first grade teachers we are fostering independence on a daily basis.
As we use the materials in the classroom to build our knowledge and share what we are learning on a daily basis, we need to make sure our materials are ready for use the following day.
Some examples of our utilization of iPads in the classroom include: ELA work with our Journeys curriculum and math with our NY Engage curriculum. We also use various apps such as SeeSaw. (This app allows students to practice ELA, Math, and Science. It also sends out real-time work in the classroom to parents.) In addition, we use Zearn, a Math program used to reinforce skills taught at each student's individual skill level.
With the charging station students will be able to easily access their materials as well as clean up for other classmates when finished. This will help to build a community in our classroom and equip them for further skills in their learning and development.
