Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Technology integration have been two words that have appeared in education for the past couple of years. In March of 2020 teacher's and student's lives changed forever, and technology became our main priority to reach our students and continue to learn and grow. I am so lucky to work at a campus that makes it a priority to ensure that every single student has a technology device available, especially now that our state assessments will be 100% online.

We need a charging station in our classroom to help us with organization.

Although every student has a Chromebook to use, our classroom becomes very "messy" when it is time to charge them. We usually try to leave them charging before going home so they are ready in the morning. I am currently using a long table in the back of the classroom to charge them, but when all of the Chromebooks are charging it leaves zero room for our custodians to clean the area (and we know how important sanitation is) It also leaves a lot of charging wires everywhere and students spending extra time trying to find their own Chromebooks and chargers the next day.

A charging station will also help me keep their devices secure. Students are financially responsible for the devices they check out, which means they have to take care of their Chromebooks. A charging station will allow me to lock them up at the end of the day ensuring their device and charger are safely in the cart. No more worrying about losing their devices! It would mean a great lot to me and my students to have this charging station in our classroom, and I know the upcoming generations will appreciate it as well because let's face it: Technology is the future.
