This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Eager faces, not-so-eager faces, downright bored faces...I see them all throughout the day in my classroom. My school is home to a multitude of different attitudes and outlooks toward science. Although I teach at a math and science focused school. Not everyone learns in the same way or interacts with knowledge in the same manner.
My students come from a very diverse backgrounds, with a wide diversity of needs.
Our school accepts students from all over our large district, creating a melting pot of learning.
My Project
I have a class set of laptops. These laptops aren't cutting edge technology, but they are solid workhorses that get the job done. My students use laptops to conduct research and type assignments for class. They also use the laptops to access the Internet and watch instructional videos for lessons and lab instructions. This year and for the foreseeable future, I have also become a floating teacher. If my students are going to be using laptops in my class, I have to bring them along with me.
A charging cart for my class set of laptops will allow more students access to this technology while also providing a safe way to transport and store them.
Your contribution will allow me to move classrooms with all of the necessary materials for my students to reach their full potential.
