My third graders are enthusiastic learners! The are inquisitive, bright, caring, compassionate, and wonderful. Our small rural school is located near the southern coast of Oregon. We work hard to collaborate, create, and communicate throughout our day.
We pride ourselves on lifting each other up, as we strive toward a common goal of developing students who are critical thinkers, innovators, and role models.
We have a long way to go toward achieving this goal; however, with your help, I know we can make it. In our class, we live by the motto, "The good you do, will come back to you!"
My Project
Imagine what your bedroom looked like when you were eight. Was it neat and orderly, or did it look like a disaster? Now amplify that by 23, and you will have an idea what our class can look like during some activities. To help combat the clutter, we need project boxes with snap lids to keep our supplies neat and accessible. A collection of 24 boxes will ensure each student has his/her own box to safely store their art materials. In addition, students can store any work in progress within these awesome accessories, as well. We have a wonderful cubby cabinet to house these boxes already.
In addition, our school occasionally, at least 5 times a year, loses power and the lights go out.
Because we have a windowless classroom, we would like a collection of LED lanterns to increase the lighting at each student table in the event the lights go out.
The USB charger will keep our Kindle Fire tablets charged and ready for students to use. These tablets allow us to access a plethora of text.
We are also requesting two dry erase speech bubbles to highlight all of the incredible student quotes we hear on a daily basis. When students express a particularly eloquent observation, we can quickly jot their words down and display them for all to see.
Finally, a class set of water bottle holders will allow us to get our water bottles off our tables and house them on the table legs. These holders are designed for bikes; however, they will easily attach to our table legs.
With your help, these resources will soon find their way into our room. Thank you for your kind consideration.
