My Students

Hello Donor! My name is Keely, and I am a 2nd grade teacher at a Public Charter School. We are a Project Based Learning school with a strong foundation in social emotional learning. Through compassionate connections with our students together we discover purposeful learning.

My students are kind and inquisitive learners.

They have worked hard this year to be a part of a class community filled with empathy towards each other and the world around them.

All of our projects take students out into our community to help them understand how at any age, they can have a positive impact on the world.

My Project

We are lucky enough to have a full classroom set of 1:1 Chromebooks for my students to use. However, we do not have a charging cart or station. Right now, I have rigged up an old wooden mail slot shelving unit to charge the Chromebooks. The wooden unit gets the job done, but I worry about the safety and longevity of charging computers in this way. Sometimes the chargers heat up when charging 25 computers, and I worry about the heat being contained within a wooden charging station. This current unit also takes up an enormous amount of space in our already small classroom.

These Belkin Chromebook chargers, that I have seen in other classrooms, would give me peace of mind knowing that our computers are stored in a safe manner, and would give my students more space to utilize in our classroom.
