Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach students in an urban community. Our school population includes ninety percent second language learners. These students come to my classroom ready to learn every day. The curriculum we provide our students needs to support and encourage their language development, so they can be successful and proud of their progress.
I want them to make connections, so they feel responsible for their own learning and excited about their school environment.
My goal is to provide engaging lessons where all students can contribute to discussions and activities.
My Project
My students have a set of 12 Chromebooks in our classroom but we have to use a wire rack to store our technology. We have power strips that sit on a table but it is difficult to plug in our Chromebooks so they are ready for the next day. The wires are difficult to locate, unorganized and it is not easy to find the appropriate plug that connects to each Chromebook. We need a charging station to make it easier, more efficient and safer to charge our class Chromebooks.
This donation will help to preserve the existing technology in my classroom.
