My Project

My magnificent students represent a variety of astounding cultures. Students and their families are from Africa, Latin America, Asia and the United States. Many are the first generation to live in the United States.

"Multicultural literature can be used as a tool to open students' minds and create a love for reading." It helps to stimulate an understanding of diversity in the classroom and and helps to build an understanding of and respect people of other cultures.

These books nurture multicultural awareness and build empathy for others. They are able to understand common awareness and build awareness and appreciation for other cultures.
