My students need learn leadership skill workbooks and program supplies that offer real world leadership training that they need to be successful in school and in life.

Adventurous, energetic, and industrious are just a few words that describe our students.
They live in a rural, desert, and predominantly military community. We have about 450 students who discover hobbies and interests through nature, sports, and technology. We are a small community but we make the most of our resources. Our school is first to explore new trends and implement new technology. Because we are vast in area but small in population, we have many schools in our district. However, our teachers meet weekly to collaborate on modern methodologies, compare and build on cutting edge strategies, and share resources. Our mission is to help students discover their strengths, nourish their talents, and promote character through self-worth and honor. To accomplish this, students take an active role in their education by working with each other in study groups, presenting research and projects to their peers, and encourage each other through constructive feedback and praise.
My Project
Through literature, journaling, skits, ethical dilemmas, lectures, interviews, leadership principles, current events, and real-world video clips, students will learn what leadership means and how to make a positive difference in our world. I have 70 students in my Leadership class. Most of our time has been spent on spirit building and campus pride activities. My students deserve more! They need to know what tools are necessary for true leadership... tools such as sacrifice, preparation, composure, gratitude, and integrity to name just of few of the tools students will learn as they progress through this unit of study. Students are exposed to so much more than in previous generations. This character education curriculum provides students with the necessary skills to be successful in all facets of their lives.

They will learn what kind of person they can be and should be. They will be better prepared for the transitions between junior high, high school, college and career.
