My Students
My students are excited about school and look forward to coming each day. They have high energy and excitement about what they will learn.
My second graders love to read and are becoming stronger readers and are anxious to read chapter books independently.
I build time into our reading block for students to read independently and am amazed at how much they have accomplished this school year. In the remaining time of the year, I would love to see them find new authors and series of books to enjoy.
My Project
This school year my children have time during our reading block to read independently. Do you remember picking up a book and "disappearing" for a while? That is my hope with this project.
This project will put amazing children's literature into my children's hands.
This year my students have been able to check out books to take home to read at their own pace. I have been amazed at the progress throughout the year. With the addition of literature, I anticipate the gains they can achieve! These books will allow my children opportunities to take additional books home with them to read with their families. This will build vital relationships between the school and home, as well as excite the children to find books that are fun to read.
