This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Covid has been such a hardship at my school. My students have been negatively impacted by Covid and the global pandemic. Many of them are still dealing with the effects the pandemic had on thier families. I want to be able to ease the burden on families when my students are at school to make sure they have what they need to be ok during the day. As middle schoolers, life tends to be pretty chaotic. No matter the circumstance, they all have days where they forget or lack access to certain hygiene needs. Whether it be something small like needing chapstick during these cold weather months or hunger in the during of the day.

Funding for this project will provide a safe and normalized space in my art classroom where students will have access to feel safe to discuss their hygiene and hunger needs knowing I am always willing to help without judgement.

No student should have to worry about hygiene or hunger needs being unmet, no matter the reason why. Therefore, this project will ensure all my students know exactly where to go when inevitably, life gets a little chaotic again. Thank you for your consideration in supporting our wonderful students.

This is my second time asking for Chapstick. My previous project has been so well received around the school. Anyone, whether I am their teacher or not, comes to me if they need Chapstick. My concern is I am running out. I hope I do not have to ever send anyone away empty handed.
