Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a part of a community of children that comes from a wide range of needs and goals. We develop the whole child with the respect of culture and family. My students are creative, inspiring and open to learning. My students often use their environment to explore their learning.
Some children are often shattered with broken homes and violent surroundings.
They often come to school with horror stories about where they live. I want my classroom to be a soft and safe place for them to learn. I want to ensure they will not see tattered furniture or broken shelves. I want them to see a community of learning with support for emotional, physical and academics.
When my families walk into my classroom they can see the possibilities of how their child can grow. I want them to see how their child learn through the day and how it benefits them in the real world. I want Possibilities to be overflowing!
My Project
Social and emotional skills are needed for all young children. I believe if children are taught how to speak up for themselves, and others, the world would be a better place. I believe children who lack social and emotional skills will end up as adults with these problems and will not know how to function in society without fighting with their fist instead of words. I want children to know they are special and they have many things to offer to their community, family and the world. Changing the World, One Classroom at a Time. Help me Change the world!
Kindness can begin you, can be used as a motto for how I see my classroom.
With the Globe, children can see how far away we are from other countries as in distance but, with the book "All are Welcome" children can learn how to be kind to everyone. My choice of a variety of books, helping children with emotions. Identifying them and how to express ourselves and our thoughts.
