Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second-grade classroom is a room full of fun and kind students. The students range in age from seven to eight years old. My school is located in Nevada in a very high-need community. Our school is a STEAM academy elementary school where students love to invent, explore, and be creative. They have a real joy for learning. The students love to come to school every day eager to learn. I love to watch them grow and succeed in the classroom.
My Project
Incorporating STEM bins in my classroom will allow my students the opportunity to see how structures are made, develop language to describe their structures, and compare the structures with other classmates. These manipulatives are a great resource for students to help foster their creativity and building skills.
The STEM bins comes with eight amazing challenges for the students to explore.
This STEM bins will be helping my students in the areas of science, math, and writing. Another amazing benefit of this STEM bin is helping the students to work on their problem solving skills. The STEM bins will help students learn the engineering process. The students will have learn to develop a plan, execute their plan, make modifications to their plan, and record their final results. The students will be able to use these bins during center rotations or if they finish work early. Overall this STEM bin is a great way for students to have some fun while learning some valuable skills.
