My Project

Booker Middle School, A Title 1 school serving North Sarasota County, proudly supports the VPA program. VPA, or Visual and Performing Arts, includes all art mediums, including ours- creative writing!

Our students would like to use chalk and an easel to make temporary- but bold and fun- text art installations throughout campus!

We will write on the sidewalks and walls to expose our fellow students to art in poetry, text art, and quotations to promote a culture of learning and love of art and rinse it all away to make it new again. We would also like to rewrite the school breakfast and lunch menus to build the culture of eating together and make our school feel like a "classy place" of learning.

These simple items give my students the opportunity for creative and food industry writing that can be enjoyed immediately!
