Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, eager, and passionate learners.
They are our future. I teach 25 students who are in Fifth Grade. They have a passion for STEAM and they are critical thinkers.
As a teacher, it is my job to teach to a variety of diverse students who learn in a very different way. My goal is to help students become active in their education so they enjoy learning new ideas and concepts that they can take with them throughout their educational career. Therefore, my mission is to touch the hearts of each student while instilling lifelong learning. I hope to give my students the skills and knowledge necessary for their successful futures as well as instilling eagerness and enthusiasm to know more and to question why. I want them to believe that there is not anything that they cannot do.
My Project
Having whiteboards within the classroom will provide me the opportunity with additional space to show work while teaching new skills and strategies. There are currently chalk boards in the classroom, which are difficult to use for many different reasons. Having magnetic white boards will all students to come up to the board and show their work to their peers. It will provide students with an additional workspace. These boards will also allow me to post different anchor charts around the classroom for students to use while learning. In addition, we have many books in the classroom, but having these bookshelves will allow me to better organize our classroom library to allow students to easily see what books are available for reading!
