My Project

Do you remember your middle school years? Do you remember the challenges, friendships, and emotions that consumed your days during those years? Now think about our middle schoolers today and the fact that the last full year seventh-grade students had was when they were in fourth grade! Transitioning back to in-person school after months of remote, hybrid, etc. along with the mental and social stress that comes with being a teenager, in middle school, has taken its toll on some of our students.

Students need choices and strategies that help empower and strengthen their coping skills.

Some students prefer to stand up while learning and having a stand-up desk will allow a student the freedom of choice in how they receive their instruction. Some students prefer sitting on a stool instead of at a desk. Stools will provide differentiated seating and give students a choice where they would like to sit. Some students get anxious and just need a stress ball or calming strip to ease their anxiety. Some students express and reduce their stress by being creative. Having a Cricut will allow students the opportunity to not only create things for themselves for also for others in and out of our school. My students are great and some can be greater when they have the tools to be chairless, calm, and creative.
