Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom setting consists of a wide variety of ability levels. They don't have the resources they need to help them at all times.

The school is located in Corona, Queens, New York.

This school is located in a predominately Hispanic community with many new arriving students each day. As teachers, our mission is to individualize instruction to meet the needs of all students and adapt our teaching styles/ methods to help them to achieve the Common Core learning standards in all academic areas to help them achieve skills that will further their learning growth.

My Project

Learning Centers are extremely important in any child's early childhood development. Having Chair Socks will help with the distraction of where everyone is going, and when they are done with the center that they are working on. Another benefit is to be able to bring small groups together and to discuss what their book club is talking about while other students are working in their groups.

A quiet space for my students to go will help them develop and foster their literacy skills in both reading and writing.

Small group instruction is so important and that's important inside my room.
