This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Philadelphia Public School and my students are excited about learning. They come to school everyday excited about what they are going to learn. Our classroom culture is all about learning from each other and finding ways to solve problems through conversation.

The students are very experienced with using the technology in our classroom to help them reinforce their reading and math skills.

Working in groups also helps the students learn how to work together with little or no conflict.

My Project

We do not have desks. We use tables so that it will create an environment of teamwork. However, the tables do not have storage space for pencils and books. The seat pockets will fit on the back of the chair and students will be able to keep their supplies and books inside the seat pockets. This will prevent the students from having to get up and get the necessary supplies he/she will need for each activity. Having the seat pocket on the back of the chair will make it accessible for each student to be able to get their supplies or books when needed.
