A typical day in my classroom is extraordinary. My students always come in the classroom, locate their instruments and stands, set-up at their seats, warm-up, go through the lesson, then pack-up. Technology is used tremendously to enhance the classroom through an iPad or computer.
My students work hard to learn music on their instruments.
Without being able to receive music to take home to practice due to the copyright law, my students have to work especially hard in the classroom to achieve their goals. My school has a mixture of mid and low-income families, which are both represented in my classroom. With low budgets for music education in our school district, the students and I must look for opportunities to receive items any way we can.
The students in this class will benefit from these chair racks by allowing the students to be able to load the chairs on the racks to keep from having to make many trips to the performance area from the rehearsal area. The students in this class will also benefit from this projector screen by allowing the students to be able to see the lessons clearly with the use of technology.
All of these items will be used tremendously to help the band program become efficient with setting-up and the breaking down of chairs for performances and more use of technology.
