Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Organization is key! Our class likes to keep things organized, and these chair pouches will help us continue to do that. It will make the frequently used items easily accessible to the students and save important learning time!

My students are highly impoverished, English language learners from urban Colorado.

Our school has over 90% free and reduced lunch and a high percentage of second language learners. These students have many odds stacked against them in their day to day lives, so it is important for them to feel as if they are provided for and cared for while in school.

My Project

These chair pouches will make supplies that are used regularly more easily accessible to the students so that they do not have to get up and go around the room to collect their belongings. The pouches will save precious instructional time so that the students can learn more. Pouches will also provide the students with a space that is their own and their responsibility.

By having chair pouches in our classroom, this will open up the time wasted on getting supplies from bins or shelves all the time.

They will also give my students their own space to keep their important belongings and supplies.
