Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in a small rural community in Northern California. Our town has a population of about 13,000. My kindergarten students are eager to learn and excited to see what the day will bring. I love that my students have a great love for their teachers, school, and friends. It makes me feel special when my students share stories and hug me as if I have known them all their lives.
I am a teacher that wants to help develop my students growth by listening and watching my students and their interests.
Your donation will nurture the growth in their discoveries.
My Project
Next year my classroom will look very different. We are going from departmentalization to self-contained. In past years I have focused most of my day in math. This year I will also be teaching reading and writing, and will have to make room for new materials. One way to do this is to have chair pockets for each student to store their supplies such as pencil boxes, whiteboards/markers, and any other books/supplies.
Students will be accountable for their own materials.
It is important for students to be responsible and take ownership of the materials they will use. Also, now more than ever, students should have their own materials and share as little as possible in order to reduce germs from spreading. I also added a cart for my teacher materials that I will need since I will need to access more items for the different subjects I will be teaching.
