Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Clank! Clunk! Ouch! That's the sound of five-year-olds dragging our cracked and broken chairs because there aren't enough for small groups and centers. Help fund chairs to help set up science, technology, engineering, art and math centers!

In small groups and centers the kids can explore taught subjects and pursue further learning individually and with partners.

For example, in the science center the kids have studied subjects such as the polarity of magnets. In the math center they've partnered to create equivalents using scales and in the art center they've synthesized what they've learned through creations using concepts from all the STEAM areas.

My students face economic and language challenges, but their daily hard work and engagement is an inspiration. My hope is that increased STEAM exposure in pre-k will unlock a future full of curiosity, exploration and achievement.
