Help me give my students comfortable chairs for our small group table and our library as well as a green screen, markers and photo paper.

My Students

My students are dreamers, problem solvers, and likely the most creative little people you will ever meet.

They are a happy group of first graders who love school and love to learn.

One hundred percent of our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch; yet, they don't let hardships stand in their way. My students' economic situations are just as varied as are their family dynamics. We have military families with a local National Guard unit in our area and an Air Force base close by. We aim to take good care of our military families. Our district includes an Indian Reservation and we have a high population of Hispanic students, many of whom have family members who work in the agricultural industry.

My Project

We have a back table where the children gather in small groups or as individuals to read to me or work in a small intervention group. The red and black Ottoman cubes will be perfect there. We have one black one that we have been trying out. The children like it, and I have noticed they all sit in that one first, so I am hoping to add a few more to that table. The other stools will be placed in our library. We have tried to help our librarian make her area more inviting. We only get her part time. My students get to go to the library two times a week. We thought these stools would be a nice holiday gift for our librarian that goes the extra mile to make library a fun place to be. She services 410 students throughout the week, and they will use them every day.

We use our green screen all the time and borrow it out to other classrooms to do the same. It is used often for science and social studies activities. However, it has had so much use, that it recently broke. We can't wait to replace it. The children are even learning how to help choose the back grounds. We have taken pirate pictures, character trait pictures and more.
