My Project

All of my students come from low-income backgrounds and qualify for reduced or free lunch at our school. Often, their parents work 2-3 jobs just to support their family and this can have an impact on how often they eat their daily meals. My students may come to school without having eaten breakfast and are often hungry before lunch because they forgot to eat or were in a rush to come to school. With skipping meals, this leads to my students' low attention span, their decreased ability to focus and their overall low energy levels in the classroom.

Your gift would offer my students a satisfying and filling snack if they forgot to eat breakfast before coming to school.

My students learn best when they are not hungry and are able to pay full attention to instructional activities. Your gift would support all of our students to learn to their fullest potential without struggling with feeling hungry. With this basic need met, students could learn more and gain more from being at school.
