My Students

My students are creative, hard workers individuals and are willing to try new mediums. They will be creating ceramic pots on the pottery wheel. They would love to glaze them and make them food safe in order to have a finished artwork. They have worked hard to understand the process of pottery and would love to know how to make complete utilitarian objects.

My art students rarely have the chance to experience ceramics this in-depth.

They make corrections and make the best artwork possible.

My Project

The students will learn the process of throwing a ceramic pot on a pottery wheel. We have some tools, but not enough for more than one or two students to work at a time. With the addition of a few extra tools, we can have more students work simultaneously. The glazes we have are very old and there is a limited amount of colors. New glazes will allow the students to be creative and have finished pots.

The glazes will show them how to take their artwork to a finished level, that they will cherish.

The new materials will allow them to take their ceramics and make them into a functional, finished artwork that they can use.
