Central Elementary Outdoor Classroom/Serenity Pond
My students need 2 picnic tables for our school's outdoor classroom/pond area. This will be accessible to Central Elementary and Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore, OK.
Welcome to our outdoor classroom! This is a special place. My school uses this area to learn about ecosystems, read books, rewards and a place for serenity.
Central Elementary is a Title 1 school in Moore, OK.
Our school had some damage from the May storms but wasn't destroyed. Several of our students did lose their homes. We are currently sharing five of our classrooms, gym, and library with Plaza Towers Elementary, one of the schools destroyed by the tornado.
We have this wonderful pond filled with water lilies, hyacinths, goldfish, and koi. Our 545 students along with Plaza Towers students have a place to go for an outside adventure. We have 3 benches, but as nice as those benches are, there isn't enough room for a whole class to sit for lessons. 2 picnic tables would give our teachers a place to teach their lessons outside.
Wouldn't it be fun to go to our pond and listen to the waterfall, read a book, or eat a picnic lunch?
Students could collect scientific data and record their findings. They could write stories or poetry. Picnic tables could make all of this happen.
