Our school is in a small, rural, farming community. We serve students in PreK-5th grade. We are a small school with 170 students. We are 100% free lunch.
My students love hands-on learning.
We do a lot of projects and centers in our First Grade classroom. We try to incorporate science, math and technology in our daily curriculum. My students are great problem solvers and I like to challenge them everyday. My students are active thinkers and problem solvers. I am always looking for new opportunities for my students.
My Project
My students love doing center work with hands-on engaging activities. Last year, we bought several Hot Dot products for a Hot Dot center. My students absolutely loved these! I would like to continue and expand the center with sight word cards and math cards. We also need a few more of the Hot Dot pens!
Reading and math are very important in first grade!
I have selected a few games for new math centers to keep them engaged while adding and subtracting. I have also included a few sight word resources, because sight words are the KEY to success in reading.
My students will use these resources to work with partners, in small groups, and individually to master reading and math skills!!
