Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school, I'm aware of the challenges my students face on a daily basis. Many of my students are from single parent households where their parent has at least two jobs to make ends meet. They also receive free lunch because of their low socioeconomic status. Despite all these challenges, my students are eager and enthusiastic about learning and what better place to help them escape than in the classroom? While I have no control over their way of life, I can surely control their learning environment by creating an oasis for learning.

My Project

With this project I am seeking supplies to assist with my classroom center activities and EOG Test Prep for our Math and Reading state tests. With our state standardized test only a few months away for my students, this project will provide some well needed material to help my very nervous third graders who are doing this for the first time be more prepared for their upcoming exams. Also, the stools are needed to help utilize the space in my classroom so my students don't have to keep moving their chairs for centers. Please help us get ready for our EOG! Thank You!
