Hello! Thank you for showing interest in my young scholars. My students are kind, curious, and always ready for a challenge. As a first grade teacher, it is my privilege to teach some of the most eager little learners. Everything about the learning process is fun and my students meet new challenges head on. They work hard and support each other throughout the year.
Walk into my classroom and you will be greeted with smiles from children of all backgrounds who are serious about their learning.
The enthusiasm for learning that is shown by my diverse group of students is matched only by their compassion and enthusiasm for their peers. Every child in my class has something to offer and each child is an important member of our first grade family.
My Project
Independent literacy practice is a key part of our day. Independent literacy centers give my students a chance to practice skills and strategies being taught in a small group, student-led setting. They get to work with their peers to complete various activities that focus on certain topics. The tabletop writing center and flexible seating options will allow my students to have greater mobility and flexibility while they rotate through their various literacy centers each day.
A book is so much more enjoyable when you are reading it in a cozy spot.
We discuss how good readers choose a "cozy spot" to enjoy their books and the flexible reading chairs will allow my students to have that option. The tabletop writing center will help make writing supplies more organized and accessible to all students in the center. The stools will work perfectly at our guided reading table when the students come back for individualized small-group reading instruction.
