Kindergarten is a fascinating year. When students enter their classroom, they enter a world of discovery. My students love to read, draw, work and create with their hands. The most exciting step in kindergarten is when a student accomplishes a goal set before them.
My students come to class each day with smiles on their faces ready to accept the challenges placed before them.
These students work together, support each other and understand that mistakes are a part of learning. Where will this experience take them? They are on an adventure of learning!
My Project
My kindergarten students are divided into groups for both language arts and math. A portion of their time is spent working independently while rotating through the room participating in various activities to reinforce skills previously taught. Centers are changed out periodically and are differentiated to incorporate newly learned sight words, CVC words, addition, money, and number sense as well as to create excitement and boost confidence.
Hands-on engagement has a great deal of value in a child's learning.
Hands on activities promote confidence and keep their attention. An assortment of activities allows them to be successful and encourages team work.
