My students are the most unique individuals that you will ever meet. Every single one has their own personality, their own sense of humor and their own style of learning. My classroom is a melting pot of different backgrounds, different ideas and different ways of communication. I have students that speak multiple languages, some that can barely speak English and some that are so strong in their opinions that they constantly add their own ideas to my lessons.
What I love about my students is that they all add strength to my classroom.
They are all loving and supportive and have made me into a better teacher. I constantly learn from them and enjoy every minute that I spend with them.
I will use these materials in center work and in small group activities. The puzzles will help to reinforce literacy and math concepts that are difficult to understand unless the students are able to see them visually. They will help to reinforce the learning objectives and the students will have such a fun time messing and moving the pieces that they won't even realize that they are learning. I am hoping to use the small desktop pocket chart to help with writing in a small group setting. This will greatly improve my students' abilities to form sentences and to create sentences on their own.
All of the activities and materials will go to furthering the independence and critical thinking skills of my kindergarten students.
They will now be able to manipulate different concepts, visualize them and use them in their own unique ways. I am hoping to have multiple centers that have different materials so that all of my students can be working on different skills while having fun doing so. They will also look forward to moving on to the next center and creating something of their own.
